A Concessionary Bus Pass Petition has been created on the Official Site of The Prime Ministers Office regarding the use of Concessionary Bus Passes on Community Transport services.

The Concessionary Bus Pass Petition urges people to sign in support the use of  Concessionary Bus Passes on Community Transport.

"Many elderly people and those with disabilities cannot access conventional bus services and are adversely affected compared to more able bodied people, with concessionary bus passes. It seems unfair that those with the greatest need receive the worst treatment..........."

Concessionary Bus Pass Petition Wording

"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to allow elderly people and those with disabilities, to be able to use their concessionary bus passes, to have free or subsidised use of Council approved community transport services."

Update 16th December 2009

An extra 24 people have signed in the last three days bringing the total to 157. The petition needs 500 people to sign to make the Government take notice.

  1. H.A.R.T. is a registered Charity operating door to door dial-a-ride Community Transport services for North, Mid and South Holderness in the East Riding of Yorkshire
  2. MEDiBUS services include dial-a-ride transport to all the Hospitals, doctors, dentists and specialist clinics in Hull and East Yorkshire.
  3. Dial a Ride MiBUS and Shopping services operate from Holderness villages to market towns and supermarkets.
  4. Community Transport Volunteer car services are available to anyone who doesn't have easy access to transport in Holderness.
  5. Community Group vehicles are available for use by for not for profit groups in East Yorkshire
