Dear all,

The next World Trade @ 1 (WT@1) will take place on 9th December at Glanford Park, Scunthorpe and we will welcome the Trinidad & Tobago High Commission, Invest Barbados and Jamaica Trade and Invest to the region.

Trade links between the UK and the Caribbean are centuries old and whilst relationships have changed over the years, the same mutual interests and opportunities for bilateral trade are as strong as they have ever been.  Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Jamaica are all major export markets in the Caribbean for UK companies, with great opportunities available in sectors such as food and drink, chemicals, oil and gas, education, construction, agriculture and renewable energy.

Dionne Ligoure (Trinidad & Tobago High Commission), Laurence Jones (Jamaica Trade and Invest) and Jean-Paul Cumberbatch (Invest Barbados) will provide expert advice on doing business in these Caribbean states and on the commercial opportunities available in these states for UK companies.

You will have the opportunity to speak to all guest speakers and ask them any questions you may have regarding trading with the Caribbean after their presentations and also over lunch, where you will also have the opportunity to network with fellow international traders.

At this WT@1 event, we will be holding a charity raffle and donating all proceeds to Children in Need.  The prize draw will take place over lunch with Nigel Adkins, Manager of Scunthorpe United football club, doing the honours and hopefully drawing your winning ticket!  Raffle tickets will be available for purchase on arrival on 9th December.

WT@1 provides networking opportunities exclusively for those interested in international trade – aimed at being informal yet informative.  We meet monthly for a presentation on issues of interest to international traders followed by a light lunch and the opportunity to network (12 noon to 2 pm).
