Volunteer Drivers

VOLUNTEER drivers are urgently needed to help people in the Holderness area of East Yorkshire to access services such as hospitals, doctors surgeries, shops, Community Group trips and days out.

HART (Holderness Area Rural Transport) is appealing for volunteer drivers to help carry on and develop the transport services to enable people within the community, who due to rural isolation are unable to access these vital services.

Community Group Drivers

HART also have well over 100 registered Community Groups that need volunteer drivers to drive the minibuses for them when going on trips. There is a huge variety of groups, and therefore trips to go on, catering for all tastes, ages and type of event.

Some events are local, maybe to the theatre or a sporting event, and last just a couple of hours. Others are for the adventurous and can include an overnight stay in a far flung county. Be warned - fun might be involved.

Volunteers can decide how much time they want to devote.

HART said even a few hours a week can make a difference and help provide a service which is a lifeline to many people who live in rural areas. Volunteers will also have an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends and be a part of the HART team.

Free MiDAS and PATS Training

Volunteers will be given training and an opportunity to develop existing skills or learn new ones.

H.A.R.T Community Transport give full support and training and why not gain a nationally recognised driving qualification for FREE!!!.

H.A.R.T. Driver MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) training sessions take place on a regular basis. Places are very limited so please BOOK EARLY and reserve your spot. To qualify for FREE MiDAS driver training you must:

• Be over 26
• Hold a full drivers license with D1 entitlement
