Community Transport Social AccountsBelow are a selection of comments from key stakeholders consulted on H.A.R.T. Community Transport values.
“From the reports received covering the initial implementation and running of the project I feel that it clearly does. Were H.A.R.T. Community Transport to reach a sustainable future position, there could be potential for enhancement of activity but still maintaining the high standards set. From the viewpoint of the Countryside Agency and more recently, Yorkshire Forward, through it’s inheritance of ‘legacy’ projects and also through the Hornsea market town hinterland work, objectives have been well met.” East Yorkshire Rural Renaissance Delivery Manager – Humber, Yorkshire Forward “Yes H.A.R.T. Community Transport lives up to these values and is an excellent rural community-based transport model in this respect. As far as I'm aware H.A.R.T. Community Transport achieves its objectives to the limit of the organisation's capacity, although I suspect H.A.R.T. Community Transport wishes to achieve much more in real terms if capacity can be further developed.” East Yorkshire Humber Rural Pathfinder Programme Manager
"The Council has worked with H.A.R.T. Community Transport since it started. Partnerships have been forged and examples of mutual help for the benefit of the community can be cited. Indeed the Council operates the MEDiBUS scheme connecting people with health facilities. A mutually advantageous protocol has been established to ensure that if the MEDiBUS has overcapacity the transport need is passed to H.A.R.T. Community Transport and visa versa. Indeed recently H.A.R.T. Community Transport has taken a portion of the East Riding MEDiBUS Scheme after a tendering exercise. This has been delivered in a way which has met and exceeded expectation.
Overall H.A.R.T. Community Transport is seen by the Council to be a valuable operator which specialised in building stronger communities by connecting people with a variety of services and other people and helps to reduce rural isolation and deprivation in the Holderness area." East Yorkshire Transportation Manger, East Riding of Yorkshire Council
“We chose H.A.R.T. Community Transport to operate demand responsive services in Holderness because of their ability to provide the most effective solution to reducing rural isolation.” East Yorkshire HWRCC MiBUS Co-ordinator
“We have been able to use the H.A.R.T Community Transport buses over the last school year to enable a number of our students to attend hockey training at Driffield school and for some students to access transport home to their villages enabling them to stay behind for after school activities. This has meant that these children have not been excluded from activities they want to participate in due to their rural isolation/lack of public transport.
We have seen working with H.A.R.T Community Transport as a partnership, as many students as possible have been accommodated and all local villages have been included. H.A.R.T. Community Transport has also been able to offer us some flexibility as arrangements have on times needed to be changed on a weekly basis.
All of H.A.R.T. Community Transports objectives have been met by the provision of transport to students at Hornsea School. As a result of the provision of transport by H.A.R.T. Community Transport, our activities have been inclusive to all students regardless of where they live.” East Yorkshire Extended Schools Co-ordinator
"Been involved in a small way with helping H.A.R.T. Community Transport in taking students home from after school clubs shows that partnerships can be formed between private business and volunteer groups." Owner 535353 Taxi's, East Yorkshire
H.A.R.T. Community Transport also lives up to the values very well. As far as the objectives are concerned, given the constant need to fight for funding, H.A.R.T. Community Transport does very well in achieving its objectives. More cash would obviously make it even better and possibly allow you to exceed them.” Member Hornsea Lions, East Yorkshire
“Under Pinning Values - Yes. But there is a difference in what you want to achieve and what you are allowed to achieve within budgetary and grant restraints.
Achieve Objectives - Certainly, within the context of the previous statement and your ability to get suitable volunteer or paid drivers.” Co-ordinator Nafferton Millenium Committee, East Yorkshire
