“The desire of the committee is first and foremost to meet the needs of a number of people who experience difficulty accessing transport. We aim to do this in an understanding and helpful manner, providing a service which is not only efficient but supportive. The H.A.R.T. group have also benefited from the experience of setting up the transport service, a number have gone on to undertake training on the MiDAS scheme with one of our members becoming a Driver Assessor Trainer (DAT), others have attended seminars and conferences. Our aim is to provide a service for those groups of people that have become isolated because of the lack of transport by filling the gaps left by the private sector transport operators”.
